 THE GREATEST ENTREPRENEURIAL JOURNEY:

YOUR CAREER, YOUR LIFE

MR. PO CHUNG, OBE SBS JP

CO-FOUNDER AND CHAIRMAN EMERITUS OF DHL INTERNATIONAL LTD.

FOUNDER, THE GOOD LIFE INITIATIVE FOUNDATION

Join us for lunch with Mr. Po Chung, and learn from this successful business entrepreneur about living life to the full ! Mr. Chung believes that life is an entrepreneurial journey, during which we move through three stages: first, we launch ourselves into the real world and learn to make a living; second, we shape our lives and build a career; third, we can move past that career and enjoy "living a good life" !

Po Chung was born in Macao and educated in Hong Kong and US.  In 1972, he co-founded DHL International and subsequently built the company into a global network.  In 1996, aged 52, he stepped down from his day-to-day running of the business and later sold his shares in the company.

Mr. Chung is passionate about fostering entrepreneurship and education in the principles and personal characteristics required for true business success.  In 2004, he spearheaded the creation of the Centre for Asian Entrepreneurship & Business Values at the University of Hong Kong and has taught a course in “Entrepreneurship: Start-up” in the years since.  His first book, "THE FIRST 10 YARDS – The 5 Dynamics of Entrepreneurship and how they made a difference at DHL and other successful startups", was published in January 2009.

Mr. Chung has been very active in community service, including acting as Deputy Chairman of Ocean Park, Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Management Association and Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Centre.  He also founded the Business For Art Foundation and started the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council.

Retirement has allowed Mr. Chung to refine the process for understanding, designing and managing his life.  To help others to explore their life’s purpose outside a career, he set up The Good Life Initiative Foundation and regularly lectures and coaches.  In 2009, he received an Outstanding Third Age Citizens Award in recognition of his lifelong learning and knowledge sharing and also for his active participation in social services, voluntary and charity work.
