HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS
FOR NON-PROFIT MANAGEMENT

Scholarships to HBS for Nonprofit Executive Education

Applications due February 26th, 2020 Wednesday 5:00PM

Scholarships are offered each year for leaders of nonprofit organizations in Hong Kong

to attend the "Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management" Program held at the

Harvard Business School (HBS). This year, HBS Association of Hong Kong will continue

to offer three full scholarships to this Program.

The purpose of this e-mail is to solicit applicants for this year's Program and to encourage you to let others know about this opportunity.

The program "Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management" will take place July 12-18, 2020. This is an intensive week of interactive learning onsite at the HBS campus residential executive facilities, during which participants examine their missions and develop new strategies for the new global economy. Taught by a team of faculty members from HBS and other graduate schools within Harvard University, the program features management cases and materials drawn from a wide variety of social enterprises. Post-program evaluations have been overwhelmingly positive, and follow-up discussions indicate that participants are actively applying concepts and skills from the programs. Participants have the opportunity to connect with approximately 140 nonprofit leaders from a broad range of sectors and geographies.

The scholarships are named after Mr. Ming Wai Lau, an alumus of Harvard Law School, for his generous support and sponsorship of this program.  The scholarships cover the full program costs of the course, including tuition, accommodation, books, case materials and most meals. The cost of roundtrip economy class air travel from Hong Kong to Boston will also be covered. Since 2001 up until 2017, these scholarships had been offered by the HBSA Trust under a separate grant named after Andy Choa, and a total of 58 Hong Kong NGO leaders had been awarded to date.

Eligibility: This program is designed for a select group of CEOs, Presidents and Executive Directors of nonprofit organizations who are responsible for driving the organization's direction, mission, policies, and major programs. This program is not open to applications from management support organizations or consulting firms.
