Event Description:

The “Back of House” Series

During the time of isolation and contemplation, many of us are diving into arts, music, literature, film etc; Arts and Culture has always been an important sanctuary in our daily lives and it’s likely we have all taken it slightly for granted.

The Arts & Culture Sub- Committee at Harvard Club HK presents to you a series of events looking into the Arts and Cultural sector, not through the mode of consumption we are accustomed to, but through the lens of “Art is Work”.

HKCHK X PARASITE (Non Profit Art Organization )

In this event presented by the Arts Committee, Harvard alumni Anqi Li and Harvard Board Director Betty Ng will unveil a few untold aspects of the arts industry.

We are going to kick off the morning with a scrumptious breakfast inside a private room at Soho House HK, while Anqi and Betty will initiate a discussion on the role of a non profit art organization as a player in the art ecology in the region, the work involved behind the scene running a non profit art organization and touch upon the making of an art space.

Attendees will then move onto a guided tour (30min) of exhibition ‘Garden of Six Seasons’ curated by PARASITE at Soho House HK, during which Anqi, Curator of Education and Public Programs at PARASITE, will unveil “behind-the-scenes stories” such as how to put up an exhibition, the various roles that artists, curators, collectors, and patrons play in the art ecology.
