We are deeply honored to welcome Professor Yang Wang, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Institutional Advancement) of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and GSAS alum, for an exclusive lunch talk with our Club on the visionary theme, “Toward Web4.”

The convergence of autonomous AI agents and decentralized Web3 infrastructure is giving rise to a new paradigm: Web4. Equipped with intelligence, execution capability, and economic agency, these agents are poised to automate cognitive labor—threatening white-collar professions and dismantling business models built on information asymmetry. Yet the outcome is not predetermined. We stand at a critical fork between "Digital Feudalism"—centralized AI monopolies—and "Open Sovereignty," where user-owned agents ensure accountability via blockchain. In this future, "smart" becomes a commodity, while human uniqueness becomes the ultimate premium asset. The pressing question: can we build trust and alignment fast enough to steer super-intelligent agents toward human flourishing?
